Mountain Council for Accountable Development - MCAD represents a coalition of the Asheville Board of REALTORS® - ABR and the Asheville Home Builders Association - AHBA. February 2007 marked the beginning of the partnership of ABR and AHBA in developing MCAD, an organization that serves as the governmental affairs representative for REALTORS® and Home Builders in Asheville and Buncombe County. The predominant goal of MCAD is to influence public policy by promoting economic development, smart growth, and a healthy real estate industry. We advocate care for our environment in the development process by utilizing experienced professionals in the many areas of the development field. We believe it is in the best interest of all Western North Carolina residents to insist upon a fact and science-based process in the passage of ordinances that affect the members of the REALTOR® and Builder communities and the public at-large.
