Joining Asheville Board of REALTORS® and MLS

Step One: Submit a North Carolina Mountains MLS Change Request form to join the MLS. This form advises our MLS department and Board that you will be joining a firm that is one of our member firms. This is available under Member menu, than form. Click Submit to forward electronically.

Fill out the Add a New User to Innovia section.
Your Broker-In-Charge must sign and date the bottom.
Submit the form or fax it to (828) 255-0649. Once this is received, you will be put into our MLS system.

Step Two: If you are joining as a primary member of the Asheville Board of REALTORS^® and you are not already a REALTOR^® member of another Board, you must sign up for an orientation class within 45 days of being added to your firm’s MLS. If you fail to attend orientation within 45 days of joining the MLS, your Broker-In-Charge will receive a non-member bill in the amount of $1,150.

To join the Asheville Board of Realtors^® you may pick up an application at the Board office or download one by clicking here.

At the time you submit your application, you will be required to pay the initiation fee ($550) and annual dues ($600, prorated monthly). Your initiation fee covers your attendance at our Orientation Class, which is scheduled on the first Monday of every other month. Class size is limited so you need to reserve a seat by submitting your membership application and paying the amounts due.

You must call (828) 255-8505 to make an appointment to meet with our membership department for complete review of your application. We will ensure we have all the information needed and so that we can advise you of the current cost to join the Board. Nancy Birmingham (Director of Member Services) or another member of our membership staff will then meet with you to go over the benefits and services related to joining the Board and describe the Orientation Class you will need to attend. This process will take approximatly 20-30 minutes.

If you are a member in good standing with another Board, you may complete an application to join as a secondary member. Payment for the initiation fee ($100) and the annual dues ($315) is required at the time you submit your application. You must also submit a letter of good standing from your other Board.

Step Three, MLS Training

MLS training is available at the Board office first Wednesday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Registration is not required. You may bring your own laptop computer to class if it has wireless access.

Step Four, Supra Keys

You must have a valid real estate/appraiser license and have submitted an MLS Change Request form to obtain a key. Once these conditions have been met, you may schedule a key appointment with NCMMLS at (828)
687-9028.

If you are going to be showing a house, please be sure to allow a sufficient amount of time between your appointment and the showing.

You will need to bring the following to your key appointment:
The following charges apply: $350 deposit for the key - checks only, made out to "NCMMLS".
