Fannie and Freddie Robbed of Money to Support Transportation Initiative
Earlier today the House of Representatives voted, 354 to 72, to approve anamendment to remove the extended G-Fee (charged by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac) from the highway bill.
The amendment to HR 22 was sponsored by Congressmen Randy Neugebauer (R-TX) and Bill Huizenga (R-MI). The main bill, H.R. 22, a 6-year, nearly $340 billion highway and transit bill passed by a vote of 354-72.
The bill will now go to a House-Senate Conference. The early indications are that the Senate will agree to the House version. NAR will continue the current Call for Action with modified language asking Members of Congress to support the House version of the bill.
We need your voice – say no to the bill, HR 22.
